Being prepared for everything that can happen is the key to saving lives. A first aid course includes all the vital techniques and skills necessary to be able to act before the 112 health services arrive.
The use of external defibrillators
Nowadays, those known as automatic or semiautomatic external defibrillators (AED or DESA) have begun to be installed in different autonomous communities. Understanding how these devices work correctly is essential for the survival of a person with cardiorespiratory arrest.
Life can surprise people with delicate situations in which, without the help of knowledge of emergency interventions, the risk of death increases. For this reason, it is essential to have completed a first aid course in which the process is known in the event of these characteristics.
The importance of first aid
Accidents never warn. That is why it is so important always to be prepared. It may be a stranger who needs help. Or not. It can also be a family member or friend who is in danger. Being prepared is essential to being able to save lives. A few mere minutes make the difference between life and death.
In first aid, everyone must know the action protocol so as not to cause more significant harm:
- – Protect.
- – Alert.
- – Help.
Many people rush to the accident area without protecting their lives or the accident site. This situation can cause that there are two or three more instead of one victims.
First aid may be necessary for many situations and circumstances: a fracture, choking, fainting, a fall, drowning, sunstroke, a traffic accident, etc. All these realities need emergency help, mainly when a cardiorespiratory arrest occurs for any reason.
